With the help of many donors and sponsors and the generosity of the general public, the Fund has maintained reserves to enable us to continue our support for many disadvantaged children, for which we are deeply grateful. By keeping up the reserves we were able to take 300 very deserving children out on a fantastic day trip to Southend-on-Sea in 100 decorated taxis and to hold a Christmas party at the Grosvenor House for 700 very needy children.
General administration expenses have been kept down once again to less than 2p in the pound, allowing nearly every penny of income to be spent on improving the quality of life for those in need.
APPEALS & GRANTS 2017
Every month the charity receives many appeals for financial assistance for the purchase of medical, recreational or communicative equipment or general funding for many worthy causes. However, although all appeals are reviewed, due to financial considerations, the emphasis is usually on specific item requirements.
Step by Step
Step by Step were recipients of a new bouncy castle; this provides the disabled children with a safe space to let off steam, have fun and enjoy activities that other children enjoy. The Appeals Liaison received a letter of thanks stating that the bouncy castle had made such a difference to the lives of disabled children.
