Received 10 November 2008 from Bournemouth Carnival Band
Dear Ray, Maureen and all the Committee involved with the LTFUC. On behalf of the Bournemouth Carnival Band I would like to thank you for inviting us to take part in the Lord Mayor’s Parade with you last Saturday. Apart from the initial hic-cup and of course the rain (which didn’t dampen our spirits), we had a fantastic time. I know we brought smiles to thousands of onlookers, who gave us the most brilliant reception. I hope that we brought their attention to your wonderful cause. We feel privileged to be a part of it. We are now looking forward to 18th January 2009, when we can meet up again, this time for the Mad Hatter’s Tea Party. Thanks once again and keep up with the excellent work that you all do. Kind regards. Dean Davies, BCB Bandmaster.
What another great day out for the kids and ‘big kids’ alike. The rain, what rain, we didn’t notice it! Well done to the Committee for such a smooth trip. Our three charges for the day, Lucy, Joe and Georgia had a great time and they were a delight. Their manners were fantastic ALL DAY and would certainly put some fare paying customers to shame. My partner Kay got a huge smile and hug from Lucy and Joe’s mum upon their safe return – that just made our day. Thanks again and see you on the next trip!
Just to say a big thank you to the committee for their expert arrangement of the Southend outing trip on Wednesday. I was truly moved by the children I had in my cab. I’m sure this WET day will live long in their memory as it will with me. Looking forward to the next trip.
Thank you for a great day out yesterday. My three 8 year old boys Conor, Keiran and Cassian said on the bus before we even got to the funfair, that this was their best day out ever. Needless to say that everything after that was a bonus. Once back at Victoria Park, their helper Josephine returned the boys back to their parents. Then one by one the boys returned back to me with their Mothers to thank me for a wonderful day out. The rain made no difference as far as my boys were concerned. They loved being famous for the day, waving to the general public and speaking on BBC radio. A big thank you to all who organised this year’s trip.
I am writing to express my sincere thanks to you for organising the recent trip to Chessington. My son, Anmol, and I were among the participants that day and we had a really wonderful time. Anmol is autistic and he finds it very difficult to wait in queues for rides, so it was wonderful that day for him to experience so many of the rides without having to wait in long queues. Please extend our special thanks to our driver, Colin Spain, (Cab No. 1) for being such a wonderful host that day. Colin was very helpful and in good spirits and made our journey and trip an enjoyable one. Thanks again.

Thanks for a brilliant day. Our sons who are both visually impaired were there with the National Blind Childrens Society and had a ball. (Jackie, Dave, Peter and Andrew)

Hi, Maureen, Ray & all the Committee and helpers of the LTFUC. What a fantastic show you put on again at the Grosvenor last Sunday and it was an absolute privilege to be able to take part again. On behalf of all the Band members we would like to thank you all for making us Honourable Members of the LTFUC. This came as a total shock to us, but was greatly appreciated by us all. Keep up the excellent work that you do and we hope to see you all same time next year. Kind Regards, (Dean)

Hi there, my name is Pete and I was at the 2008 party at the Grosvenor as Capt. Jack Sparrow and part of the UK Garrison 501st Star Wars and Movie Icons costuming Club. This is the 3rd year that I have done this event and would just like to thank all involved in putting together such a great event for an even better cause!! I look forward to 2009’s event!! Well done all!!!

I wanted to send thanks for our first experience of your tea party on Park Lane. Our daughter Gemma is partially sighted and saw great shows and was entertained up close without having to worry about focusing at a distance. Your time and work given by the committee is a marathon task to put on an event on such a high scale and I can’t tell you how the kids are made to feel so special throughout the afternoon. Many thanks. Lisa and Stephen Peterman (and of course Gemma Peterman says a big thank you for a fantastic going home bag too x).

Hi, Not sure who the best person to write to is. We attended the Taxi Drivers event in Park Lane on Sunday and wanted to thank everyone for such a lovely afternoon. My daughter, who has Downs Syndrome, has not stopped talking about it and wants to go again. We wondered if you have a mailing list which we could go onto for further events. (Lucia Lambert)

Hello, I would just like to say a BIG THANK YOU for the lovely time we had today at the Mad Hatter’s Children’s Party at the Grosvenor House. Our son Ben really enjoyed himself and so did us parents. Thanks again. (The Warwicks)
