Circus owner Gerry Cottle has died aged 75
The LTCFC are sad to hear of the passing of Gerry Cottle this week after contracting coronavirus. In the 1970s at the age of 15, Gerry left his family in Surrey to join the circus after seeing a performance in London’s Earl’s Court. His first show was performed in Dorset in the summer of 1970 and had just five performers, including himself. Gerry toured Britain with his Gerry Cottle Circus and presented the Moscow State Circus and Chinese State Circus.
A great supporter of the LTCFC Gerry often gave tickets to us to bring disabled and disadvantaged children to his shows and also brought some of the circus troupe to perform at our Mad Hatter’s Tea Party.
We send our deepest condolences to his family and friends.
