I would like to start the 2024/25 Treasurer’s Report by thanking the Chairman, Secretary, and my fellow Committee Members for their support during another successful year for the LTCFC. I would also like to thank all our volunteer taxi drivers and supporters for their continued efforts and support during 2024.
This year has been an exceptional year in terms of the amount of donations and sponsorship received by the LTCFC and this level of support has allowed us to deliver additional support for the Appeals we regularly receive, along with our traditional Mad Hatter’s Tea Party and Hertfordshire Zoo Summer Outing.
On behalf of our charity and the children we support, I would like to express our heartfelt thanks to all our benefactors for their continued support and generosity.
During 2024/25 we have received an exceptional amount of donations and sponsorship, and I must take this opportunity to express the Charity’s immense gratitude to the Late Robert Wenden Bush (Bob Bush), whose estate donated an extremely generous gift to our charity in the form of a one-off donation in his memory. These specific funds will be ‘ring-fenced’ to deliver and support some major appeals and projects over the next few years that will improve the lives of many of London’s disadvantaged children. We are already planning two new Sensory Rooms in schools in Woodford and Waltham Cross as part of the projects supported by his estate.
I would also like to thank Peter Wilkinson and The Worshipful Company of Tin Plate Workers alias Wire Workers for their continued sponsorship of our Hertfordshire Zoo Summer Outing, and we wish Peter all the happiness in the future as he hands over the LTCFC liaison role within their organisation.
As a result of the additional donations in 2024 we have also managed to support individual Appeals to the cost of circa £19,000, which is an increase of over £10,000 from the previous year, allowing us to assist various schools and centres and also fund bespoke items of specialised equipment for some of the disadvantaged children we support.
A summary of the major Appeals supported includes:-
- Norwood Ravenswood Centre
- Helping Disabilities Roller-slide
- Andrews Church Pre-School Toys and Garden Storage Units
- Stephen Hawkins School Activity Workshops
- Eliana Franklin Nitrum Electric Wheelchair
- Jamie Gillam Bespoke Safety Car Seat
- Hatton Special School Sensory Room
In 2024 we also managed to run two successful fundraising events which helped to increase our income. These fundraisers were our annual Heathrow Feeder Park Collection in September 2024 and a Christmas Fundraiser at Lakeside Retail Park. I would like to thank both these organisations for allowing us to fundraise at their locations and hopefully we will organise similar fundraising events in the future.
Finally, I would like to thank all the individuals, families and organisations who have raised money on our behalf and made website, just-giving, much-loved, text message, cheque, bank, and cash donations during 2024. Your generous donations are very much appreciated, and we thank you for your continued support of our charity. I would like to thank The Estate of the Late Robert Wenden Bush, The Worshipful Company of Tin Plate Workers alias Wire Workers, along with thanks to numerous Lodges of the London Freemasons, The Harapan Trust, Pearly Kings & Queens of Finsbury, The Guild of Professional Toastmasters, Ink Recruitment, Wenzel’s, DCL Insurance Brokers, Chingford Golf Club, A&S Services Ltd (Hoddesdon), Sainsbury’s Low Hall and Cabbie Candles for all their generous donations in 2024.
With your continued support I look forward to another successful year for the LTCFC in 2025.
