I would like to start my 20th annual Treasurer’s report by thanking all my fellow committee members for their support during what has been a difficult year in fundraising.
We are grateful to Daren Parr for raising money for the sponsorship of the Kilimanjaro expedition which unfortunately was delayed and will hopefully start again in 2022. Our outings to Southend and our Christmas party also had to be cancelled but plans for next year are already being discussed.
Even during these difficult times, the committee managed to make some grants to some very deserving causes. We made a large donation for sensory equipment to Hatton School in Woodford. Another donation we made was for a special alarm for a child with epilepsy and a specially built bed for the child.
We also ran a competition for London schools to design the most colourful and unusual hat. Three children shared £500 prize money, and the school of the first-place winner, St Mary and St. Michael’s, received a donation of £1,000 to buy their students much-needed equipment.
As usual I would like to thank the many garages, clubs, pubs and eating-houses for their help in displaying our very colourful collecting boxes. A special thanks go to the Lost Property office for their continuing support of the charity with their box collection.
A special mention must go to the Worshipful Company of Tin Plate Workers Alias Wire Workers who once again have come up trumps with their wonderful donation to the charity.
We are very proud of the fact that our charity is one, if not the only charity, where no one receives any expenses for the time and energy that they put in, something that we are very proud of.
If anybody would like to put one of our collecting boxes in their garage, club or pub please contact me or the secretary. Also, we have had printed top class tip up seat adverts for all cabs. These detail how passengers can text a donation whilst in the back of your cabs, which is a great source of income for us. Please contact us via our website www.ltcfc.org.uk to request a few of the adverts or phone 0300 365 4404.
Once again, my thanks to Michael, our chairman and all the committee for their support for the past year and we look forward to arranging more of the exciting outings and parties that we are famous for.
